Samer Y. Kazziha, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Kazziha Takes Great Satisfaction In Being Able To Provide The Latest In Treatment Technology To Those With Cardiovascular Disease.

He received his medical education at the University of Damascus, Health Center and Affiliate Hospitals; completed fellowships in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiovascular Preventive Medicine at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh. He trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Medical College of Virginia, Interventional Cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Vascular and Intervention at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Kazziha received the National Research Service Award in Epidemiology from NIH in 1985, the Cardiology Research Training Award in 1990. He also was nominated for the National Young Investigator Award for the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation in 1992. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published interventional cardiology and vascular disease topics.

Dr. Kazziha is regionally recognized for his excellence in both clinical and administrative roles, and he has developed cardiovascular programs at several hospitals, St. John’s Hospital, and was the Medical Director for Cardiovascular Services at \Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center’s Mat Gaberty Heart Center, later on as executive medical director of cardiovascular serviceline, atCrittenton Hospital (Currently APRH)and most recently chief of Cardiovascular Serviceline at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Currently, Dr. Kazziha is the president of Cardiovascular Consultants and Clinical Associate Professor, WSU School of Medicine.

Dr. Kazziha has served in several non-profit organizations aiming for better Cardiovascular care in the community such as Ibn Sina Fundraiser with NAAMA Nextgen and WSU.

Dr. Kazziha’s board certifications include: Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine; Diplomate, American Board of Cardiovascular Disease; Diplomate, American Board of Interventional Cardiology and Diplomate, American Board of Endovascular Medicine.

Dr. Kazziha is skilled in performing, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Left Atrial Appendage closure device, PFO closure device.), Coronary pretentious angioplasty and stenting, including complex and high risk procedures, vascular interventions (Carotid artery stenting, renal artery stenting, peripheral arterial intervention and venus intervention including ablation).

Dr. Kazziha Joins Henry Ford Macomb As Chief Of Cardiovascular Services 

We are pleased to share that Dr. Samer Kazziha has been appointed as the Chief of Cardiovascular Services for Henry Ford Macomb beginning September 15, 2018. In this new role, Dr. Kazziha will be leading strategic initiatives to advance the growth of the HFHS Cardiovascular Service Line in our market and facilitate the containment of the destination site for cardiovascular care in this region. He will be overseeing program development, continuous quality improvement and clinical efficiency in the service line. Dr. Kazziha will represent the market on the system-wide Cardiovascular Service Line team as part of the new HFHS Strategic Plan. He will be leading extensive community outreach and education efforts and assisting with associated marketing strategies. Dr. Kazziha will in addition, be participating in resident, Medical Staff and clinical staff educational initiatives in order to advance program quality. He will be responsible for developing collaborative teams to provide best practice integrated care in all aspects of cardiovascular services.

Dr. Kazziha joins us with extensive experience. He completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals and completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital and an interventional vascular fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. While in private practice in southeastern Michigan as an interventional cardiologist, he has held multiple leadership roles including Co-Director of Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. John’s Hospital, Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center and most recently Executive Director of Cardiovascular Services at Ascension Crittenton Hospital. He has led community educational campaigns to promote awareness of cardiovascular health; served as Program Director for an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship and conducted multiple educational programs for Medical Staff. Dr. Kazziha has a keen interest in innovation and research and has participated in multiple clinical investigational studies as the primary investigator.
